One Ringy Dingy, Two Ringy Dingys and Those Shoes!

Bookmark and Share

In 1878, the first female telephone operator began her job in Boston, USA. Her name was Emma Nutt.

Really.

It's as if Emma knew Lily. Lily Tomlin that is, and her iconic Ernestine the telephone operator. I can picture Emma now, taking to task the policies and eventual omnipotence of Ma Bell.

Aren't monopolies wonderful. Well no, but I always loved the 1940s inspired outfit Ernestine wore, right down to the sandals and up to the hair do.

Particularly the shoes, as I've found Re-Mix Vintage Shoes. Vintage shoes are one of those items I do not have luck finding in good condition. I am extremely picky about shoes so was tickled to find these reproductions and want just about every pair! They carry original unworn vintage and are always expanding their reproduction line.

Think One Ringy Dingy, Two Ringy Dingys and slip on a pair of these.

When your father-in-law is Ralph Lauren....

.....this is the wedding gown you can have.

This stunning gown took 100 craftspeople 3000 hours to create. The top layer of the gown was made of antique ivory tulle. It was then hand-embroidered with flowers and Renaissance-era scroll designs in silk and metallic thread. Finished with Swarovski crystals and off-white pearl beads.

My favorite part is the high neck and long sleeves. As I've said before, thanks to Kate Middleton, the era of the bustier-4-sizes-too-small wedding gown are over. This is elegant, vintage and timeless. The whole shot is just lovely and the groom is impeccable.
If your budget doesn't allow for hiring Monsieur Lauren, maybe these will do.

Oh Dean, you're such a card!

Albert looked hopeless?I was in a store the other day just about to walk out when these cards caught my eye.  I'm always on the hunt for blogging inspirations.  The vintage photos were what got my attention.  Then I started to read some of the captions and I couldn't stop laughing.  I just loved the irreverent nature of the wording and the politically incorrect subject matters.  I don't know about you, but socially walking on eggshells has become very tiresome.  Finally there is a guy out there who is boldly going where more of us should be going.

Dean Morris has that famous British sense of self-deprecating humour that we fell in love with in movies such as "Four Weddings and a Funeral" and loads of other Hugh Grant films.  Morris is boldly stating some of the hidden feelings that we may be harbouring about ourselves and our lives.  No subject matter is safe.  Have a look at some of these brilliant cards courtesy of www.deanmorriscards.co.uk  I think that you'll love them as much as I do. Anyone out there interested in ordering some in bulk with me?
