1963 Airstream Tradewind Carvan Holidays

Two sets of neighbours are leaving for vacation today. One is headed to south Asia while the other is flying to England. With the nicer (although quite soggy) weather upon us, it's hard not to let our minds wander to destinations exotic and interesting.

How about a "staycation" or a "nearcation" - ok, I made the second one up! What about communing with nature in a retro way? There is a company in the U.K. that rents these beauties out to enthusiastic people, just craving the outdoors in a much more civilized and fun way than pitching a tent. This 1963 Airstream is in fantastic original condition with much refurbishing and reupholstering. There are many conveniences onboard, except for toilet facilities which are available onsite.

I've often thought that the perfect "man camping" experience should involve a trailer. I can hug a tree or wiggle my toes on grass to be at one with the wilds. I don't need to sleep on a cold, hard floor in nothing but a glorified nylon casing.

Calling all collectors! If you own an airstream or equivalent, think about renting it out or donating it to campsites. I'm sure there are many of us out there who would love an opportunity to commune with nature in really cool retro fashion.
