Lazy Weekend

Suze, Where Do You Get Your Jackets?
Jackets. Jackets. Jackets. Some days I feel like Suze Orman and all her jackets. Known for her extensive collection of blazers, she has had some great ones over the years, and some not so great ones. There was even an SNL skit poking fun at Suze's outwear.
I too love jackets, preferring the well tailored, and proper fitted ones to the boyfriend blazer style (that I wore in the 80s in high school!).

Chevron Saves Winter
The last kick at winter...perhaps you are tired of the season, but actually, here in Toronto, it has been very mild. Only a handful of snowfalls - certainly nothing compared to how the US east coast has been hit. We received that the year before, so I'm enjoying the break!
This jacket from Ballyhoo Vintage is a great way to brighten up the winter blahs. Even with its muted color palette, the stripes catch the eye. Referred to as a chevron pattern, this is faux fur and jersey with a zipper front and leather tie belt. Just enough interest in the pattern to draw your mind away from the snow and cold.

A 'Tail' of Two Tuxedos
I have always loved the tuxedo. Nothing is more handsome and sexy on a man. But, being a woman, there are few places (if any) to wear one..unless of course you are Marlene Deitrich in the 1930s movie "Morocco". Who can forget that scene when she wears full tails and a top hat. A glamorous and confident woman!My only hope of ever wearing tails was when I was a classical pianist. I always dreamed of donning a beautiful silk lined tuxedo coat while performing Beethoven. Alas it
never happened, but I still dream about it!
Penguin jokes aside, tails were worn by men until the Prince of Wales wore a short black jacket with satin lapels to a dinner party. Preferring the comfort of a jacket over the tails, the style promptly became popular. Unfortunately, we are now stuck with seeing tails only on bridegrooms, wedding party ushers and funeral parlor employees.
Could someone bring back the tuxedo tails please? George Clooney might be nice...
