A SPOT OF TEA, SPOT ON!

Lately I've been in the mood to get grandma's china out.  She gave us a beautiful set of circa 1950's dinnerware that's fine bone china, white with a delicate laurel leaf pattern.  The tea cups and saucers are scalloped with gold edging everywhere.  I'm sure you'll say that something like this a dime a dozen, but it sure is nice to have vintage with a familial connection.  I wondered what they were doing or saying to each other when tea or coffee were served.  Who were their dinner party guests?  How did they chose this pattern in the first place?  Pictures and stories are ways of getting back in touch with the older generation.  But there is something really special about putting your lips to a sweet, little cup that had grandma's lips on it.  Makes me miss her even more.
