Wallflower Vintage Presents: The world of Suzy

An ad from November 1959 Glamour Magazine

Suzy Perette fashions evolved after the second World War in response to Christian Dior's pricey "New Look" dresses which employed yards of fabric (a scarcity during the war). Waists were cinched and crinolines were used en masse.

Today, a vintage Suzy Perette dress still looks as fresh and fashionable as yesteryear albeit without the crinolines and corsets.
