I adore the sequined and beaded sweater tops from the 1950s. I have many of them! They provide an instant glam look without spending a fortune. Pairing these tops with skirts or jeans is effortless.

Daily Deal!
Beautiful ivory cream glass beaded top, c. 1950s. Wool knit and unlined with a back metal zipper. No label. Significant weight to the top with the combination of beading and wool which creates a flattering figure. Strands of glass beads ending in a sequined disc giving an overall effect of iridescence. Excellent condition with only two small beads missing from one strand. Due to the age of the metal zipper it sticks a little near the bottom. I suggest not opening the top all the way, rather unzipping near the end and slipping the top over the head.
Length 19" (48cm)
Waist/Bust 36-38" (91.5-96.5cm)
All of our garments are cleaned and ready to wear.

Cardigan Softness
What could be more cozy than the softness of a cardigan? This time of year affords us the opportunity to don layers of clothing - one of my most favorite ways to dress. A wardrobe always needs a few cardigans. They can dress up an outfit or create a casual look - a very versatile garment, in my opinion a necessity!
But not all cardigans are created equally. As in a sweater, they must be taken care of properly. Wools, cottons, blends...wash carefully and by hand. This soft white cardigan from Vintage Virtuosa reminds me of one I used to own, and wish I still had. Cozy and elegant, it will be a joy to wear and is a steal to buy!

Coziness in Wool
I'm not particularly fond of winter. Who am I kidding? I hate it. However, I find some comfort in the cozy, knit, soft sweaters that I pull out from the cedar chest each year. It makes the cold of winter a little more bearable. Here are a few that would be a treat to wear!
What a great color combination!
Even the color is cozy.
Love the equestrian theme, will go well with riding boots.
Just need the outback cabin for this one!
Don't forget the gentlemen!

Father Knows Best
The TV series Father Knows Best debuted this week in 1954.
It was about a whole herd of now outdated concepts like being a happily married couple with self motivated family members who all turned up for a home made healthy dinner at the same time, and were polite. Text messaging was written on a chalk board in the kitchen.
Well, we can at least look like the Andersons!
