Giggle, giggle.  A friend of mine from elementary school used to do this type of print ad modelling.  She said the grown-ups always wanted her to do dynamic poses such as these.  Hang on!  Is this just one kid?  Sorry, I'm trying NOT to focus on the clothes.

This photo has achieved what husband has not been able to - which is to render me speechless!  "They" don't look like cute little boys.  They look like Dr. Shrinker sneaked up behind some men in ugly clothes and just miniaturized them!  These are not the casual and age appropriate outfits for little guys! 

Verdict:  Just horrible.  Make it go away.  I promise to be good!

Normally I would look at an outfit like this and scoff and have some fun being snarky.  I might be especially brutal as she's a young girl who should know better, obviously misguided and perhaps a little blind.

However, I miss "Ugly Betty".  She was not a shrinking violet, even when she wore garish shades of purple and 10 other colours all at the same time.  Betty might have thought she was an unimportant spoke of an overly fashionable wheel.  But her affect on the people around her, both at work and at home proved that a modest girl from the burbs can do good!

I love this polyester number, prim and very busy.  It might have actually looked better without the blue turtleneck underneath.  I must say that her colour matching orthodontics are a fun accent!

With her glasses just a hint too small and a mouth full of metal, she really is America the beautiful!

Verdict:  No verdict today.  I'll just look forward to watching an Ugly Betty rerun episode later this evening.

Hmmm....sometimes my job is really easy.  Writer's block is not an issue on Wednesdays, especially with inspiration like this one! 

This dress was going for bold.  But the only real boldness we get here is that the designer had the nerve to call this one vintage!  Yes, vintage U-G-L-Y!  I'm not sure if she looks like a colourful toilet brush or a reject character from a Dr. Seuss book.  It's Cindy Lou Who's unfashionable cousin!

The model looks none too amused either.  She is probably feeling really prickled, unable to lower her head for fear of a nasty tulle rash under her chin.  I'd be in a flap about having to wear this creation!

Verdict:  Scary.  Funny but scary.

Quick!  Give this girl a morsel of food!  For goodness sake, she shouldn't be wearing that animal, she should be eating it!  GADS!  You need to put some meat on, girl! 


Although I am liking aspects of the winter Bond girl look, those retro boots look like she has a weird lower leg disease. What about the ski goggles hanging casually around her neck?  They look big enough to swallow her entire head and still have room for dessert!  The knit outfit looks like it doesn't have anywhere else to go but ride up even further into her nether regions!


Verdict:  Time to cover up this colourless model and force feed her some chocolate!  Knobby knees and knits don't mix.

I know that my mind is in the toilet a lot, but really?  I have no words. Does that dress on the left need a Brazilian?!  Urin-all kinds of trouble if you wear the one on the right!

These pin-up girls need to hide in the drywall.  Sorry ladies, you'd both look better in Lucy's potato sack!

There is an alarming fashion trend which is growing in popularity. Not only are people actually searching high and low for these fashion eyesores, but ugly retro, holiday sweater parties are on the rise!  ACK! 

Husband is on the hunt for unsightly shirts to wear to work on casual Fridays as the best/worst will be rewarded with a sumptuous free lunch.  I understand that motivation.

There is no explanation for this duo.  The rat-sized dog looks none too pleased either!  STOP THE ABUSE!  Do the canine authorities know about you?  Does the North Pole have your names blacklisted for assault with a deadly sweater?!

Verdict:  GAG, GAG, CHOKE, CHOKE.  I think I have a wool fur ball caught in my throat!  WARNING!  ATTENTION!  ACHTUNG!  Stay clear!

This chart topping girl band has a single called "Ugly".  Yep.  (Nodding in agreement).  I love the irony.  OK, I'm not against the whole grunge, post apocalyptic, anti-establishment, girl power, street art thing.  But it's like a bunch of colours and cartoon doodles vomited on them.  And the "I'm a tough chick" looks don't really work for me.  Sorry to say that these home girls are just K-Pop (Korean pop) victims.  With so much going on, it's hard to understand what they're trying to say with these outfits.  Sure, they look SORT OF retro/vintagey - maybe.  But among other things, the stringy Rasta style hat on the left just adds to the confusion.  Perhaps it would be helpful if I knew their music, their sound, their angst.

Verdict:  Girls, let's try again.  I'm not too old for you.  Really.  You're all just going through a bad fashion time.  Your stylists need some redirection!

Oh dear.  It's like a bad mix of Navajo, Victoria Secrets wannabe and Vishnu. Obviously this poor guy was captioned in a down moment.  However, was he supposed to look good in this get-up?!  Is he a representation of a Native spirit or just a bad Hindu god?!

The "what the heck" look on his face is classic and says it all.  Love the extra arms behind him trying desperately to lift the lifeless wings of despair!  The sad thing about this outfit is that it's not fit for runway nor Halloween!

Verdict:  Need I say more?  Both thumbs are not only down, but shaking from my laughter.

I'm sitting on the fence with this one.

Wow.  I don't know if I like this or not.  It reminds me of a cool tie-dye shirt or scarf.  But would I want that same look for my tendrils?!

I love the style of hair - very Renaissance festival.  She seems to wear it well and I can't imagine the effort it took to get the gradations of colours like this.  But do I like it?

Verdict:  Thumb is positioned sideways.  The lady gladiator lives to see another day.  But we'll be on alert for something else she does that might be 'to dye for"...
