Me & My Shadow

Some combination's just go together perfectly. I am thinking of that classic song, "Me and My Shadow" and a fantastic Rat Pack version sung between Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr.

"....like the wallpaper sticks to the wall,
Like the seashore clings to the sea,
Like you'll never get rid of your shadow,
You'll never get rid of me...."


Which makes me think of this outfit from Elizabeth's Vintage Closet. The combination of gold brocade and mink is ultra luxurious. And being vintage, comes sans the guilt of wearing fur. The tones of the fabric and fur play elegantly with each other, shimmering in the right light or displaying softness in another....just like Frank and Sammy.  I love how the jacket has an attached scarf - elongating the shoulder and backline. A perfect combination - just like you and your shadow.

Wow! I couldn't believe you mentioned "Me and My Shadow." A big band singer from my hometown of Circleville, OH, Ted Lewis sang this and it was one of his most notable songs along with his phrase, "Is everybody happy?" I am sending you a link.
